Hosted by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Charity Foundation, co-sponsored by Phoenix Satellite TV, East-West Philanthropy Forum, and Taiwan New Economy Foundation, and broadcast by Phoenix Satellite TV, the 14th compassion award ceremony of 2019 was held in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, on the evening of December 18 (Wednesday).

Wang Zhenyao, Meng Weina, Sun Chunlong, Zhang Shufen, Liu Yifeng, and Ai Liya were selected as the winners of this compassion award because they have paid all their efforts and generously helped countless people for the public welfare over the years. Each of them was awarded $140000, which was fully used for public welfare to help more vulnerable groups in need.

Niu Ben, President of Laoniu Brother & Sister Foundation, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech on the 2019 China Family Charity Survey Report at the ceremony.

In his congratulatory speech, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Zhang Jianzong said that love could spread happiness and eliminate hatred, and it was the most beautiful and good power of human beings. "Compassion Award" was founded in 2006, which praised the outstanding people from mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, preached their love and good deeds, injected positive energy into the four regions on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and built a peaceful and caring society. The six winners of this year's "Compassion Award" are from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. They have different backgrounds and experiences, but they all take doing good as their ambition, use their own resources and abilities to help the weak in their own areas, so that the weak feel warm, see hope, and set a good integrity example for them. Winners are truly worthy of the reputation for their kindness, their love for others, their change to the world.

In his speech, Niu Ben, the President of Laoniu Brother & Sister Foundation, said:

It's a great honor to be here again. Last year, on behalf of my father Niu Gensheng, I received the “13th compassion award” award from the Organizing Committee of the Compassion Award. In the past year, we have deepened the research and action in the field of family charity with the compassion award money , bringing innovation and change to charity industry of China.

We believe that in the future, more and more families will participate in charity, and build a network of love to care for a better life and a sustainable society. Thank you again for your efforts in spreading love, encouraging good deeds, promoting filial piety and building a peaceful society!

In the past 14 years, the compassion award has been based in Hong Kong. Both sides of the Taiwan Strait have chosen charity models to connect the four places across straights with love and public welfare, so as to achieve a close relationship between the two sides. The next goal of the compassion award is to promote the 15th compassion award to the global Chinese society from four regions on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, combine the power of Chinese people and Chinese businessmen on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and the world, jointly realize the "compassion dream", and become a world public welfare charity program in 2025, and select compassion models globally!
