Project Objective: To make every rural minor aged 3-12 receive more scientific and comprehensive sex education meeting the needs of minors to promote the safety, health and all-round development of rural minors, and to solve the problems faced by rural minors, such as unwanted pregnancy, AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases, sexual and gender violence, gender inequality and so on. Meanwhile, considering other constraints of living environment of rural minors, such as rural social and cultural environment, rural sexual and reproductive health service system, rural sexual education transmission system, and related policies and laws, are considered comprehensively.

01 Making Sex Education Course Material for Children and Guardians.

Scene Play of Parental Sexual Education

There are 10 mini-plays in the series. Scene play introduce solutions to parents on children's masturbation, sexual abuse, making out from parents, boys wearing women's clothes, children's curiosity about sex and other problems. Helping parents solve the most common problems in daily life related to sex education hand in hand.

Growth Story of Ding Ding and Dou Dou

The second season of animation, a total of six episodes. In the form of short stories, children are introduced with knowledge and information on gender equality and career choices, prevention and response to sexual abuse, menstruation of girls, bathing of boys, adolescent health, mutual respect in interactions of friends, etc.

Conducting a Survey on the Current Situation of Sexual Education for Rural Children

In Anhui, Hebei, Guangdong and Yunnan, more than 100 rural children, guardians, teachers and community health workers were surveyed on the current situation of sex education for rural children. A survey report on sex education for rural children and a summary of the proposals of the CPPCC and NPC related to sex education for children from 2010 to 2017 was also produced. On the basis of these reports, we look forward to submitting relevant proposals on sexual education and sexual safety protection for rural children during the two sessions next year to promote policy changes.

Developing Sexual Education Activities for Rural Children in Villages to Promote Sexual Education Among Village Residents

Developing "Understanding Children's Sexual Sensation" course includes respecting law of growth of children (sexual psychology, sexual physiology, sexual values, sexual communication ability), understanding the needs and behaviors of children. In the process of parent-child interaction, parents and children can discuss each other's views on sex, which not only learns sexual education knowledge, but also promotes mutual understanding.

The project improved the sex education curriculum materials of children and guardians, providing strong data support and case study experience in the field of sexual education of rural children, promoting rural residents to participate in sexual education of children and exploring relevant models. Meanwhile, through cooperation with more rural education and rural service institutions, the influence of sex education of children in rural areas has been expanded.
